Heather
Heather grew up in New Orleans, LA and went to college at LSU, graduating with a Bachelor' s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005. She spent a year as an intern at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, LA where she received hands on patients about living healthy lifestyles, but she knew there was something missing in her own life.
She was attending Healing Place Church when God laid it on her heart to enroll in their full time internship program. Healing Place School of Ministry is designed to give you hands on ministry experience while you earn an accredited degree. Heather knew that if she was going to become a missionary she needed some serious preparation. She needed to learn more about God's character, how to read His word and apply it to life, and to strengthen her spiritual foundation.
In 2008, Heather set out on a faith filled journey as an overseas intern to serve God's people in Rio Viejo, Honduras. This opportunity to work at Dyer Rural Hospital in Rio Viejo was the perfect marriage of the skills God had given her and the desires of her heart. She worked alongside the Williams family for 10 months in the areas of clinical administration, group logistics, and strategic planning.
After her initial time of service in Honduras, Heather received an invitation from Dr. Martin and Wendy Williams to return as a full time missionary. She has committed to another 5 years of service to provide administrative support and further the vision of Healing Hands Global.
